Why a Free Press is Important.... By Fiona

A free press is important for a democracy because if you are a reporter and you tell the truth to the people you would use a free press.

For example, say the president didn't want ice cream in the United States just because he didn't like it. What would you do?

Use the free press to tell the people the truth about the president. Then the people of the United States could decide whether or not they want him to represent them.

In conclusion, that is why a free press is important for a democracy
