Snake Charmer

Today I went to the Reptile Zoo with Cedar, my four-year-old next door neighbor, and we looked around at the lizards. After a while we asked if we could hold these snakes that were in this big glass case thing. An albino corn snake nearly slithered down Cedars shirt head first!

She laughed a lot! And kept on saying "I don't care". Andrew held a FIVE foot python! It went around his neck and stayed there for 20 minutes! I held the corn snake and I held the python once. I also held the green-grey snake with black stripes which didn't coil very much, but the corn snake did.

The snakes were pretty slithery and smooth and stuff. They were pretty strong! The corn snake kept coiling around my wrist and slithering up my arm. The striped snake didn't do much, it just kinda laid there. Its tail was plump like it's body and not like a regular snakes tail where it thins out at the end.

My mom asked me if I wanted a snake because they are easier to care for than a tortoise. I liked the corn snake, it was really pretty and also it didn't try to fall off my arm to get away. It didn't do much escaping. I thought the corn snake was very sweet.

We also saw an alligator snapping turtle. We heard the other tortoises mooing! You never would have realized that tortoises can moo. The sound was cowy.

We also saw an American Albino Alligator and two headed red-eared slider, an Iguana called Spikes, a Monitor Lizard named Phil, another Iguana named Doc and a Water Monitor which I don't know the name of.

It was a fun trip!
